We had heard of Splash Bay for several years but had never been there. Then my sons cub scout group went there for a field trip. He loved it! His favorite things to do were the Walleye River Run, Lily Pad Crossing and Fort Meigs Slides. Stayed from open until close. We ate at Upper Deck. The pizza was good but my favorite thing was the funnel cake fries. They tasted just like something you would get at a local fair.
We all really enjoyed the waterpark. We have been to Castaway Bay, Great Wolf Lodge and Kalahari before. Have to say the kids LOVE water parks. I liked the fact that they were local and close by. It was very clean and well taken care of. We had a group discount because of how many people attended so our cost was just $15 to get in. It was $10 for my son and $5 for me to watch. So for a whole day a total of $15. (this is without our food and the arcade)
We did not stay at the hotel but Holiday Inn was happy to give me a tour. They offer free, high-speed, wireless Internet access, a business center and a meeting room which can seat up to 150 people for your business needs. There's a well-equipped fitness center and free day passes to Urban Active a full gym facility.
Everything looked very nice. Offering deluxe amenities and stylish rooms. They had a nice area in the front of the hotel to watch tv and sit by a fireplace. Even has a restaurant & lounge, Bistro 1705, that offers excellent cuisine and kids eat free.
Overall I would go back if they had a special like we were able to receive. It was fun for all! I would say to go to a local waterpark and pay the normal rate I think the cost is a bit steep. (at least for our family) I was also a bit surprised that they made you pay to watch your child. The Upper Deck pricing was what I expected for a water park. Not super expensive. Dave really liked playing in the little arcade that they had also.
