About Perrysburg Heights Community Center & Association: PHCA
since its inception in 1991, has developed partnerships with many
agencies; has created volunteer and service programs with our area
universities, colleges, and local school administration and staff. We
feel it is extremely important to continue to develop relationships with
programs that mirror the ideals of our organization. PHCA is ready to
expand the services we provide by effectively developing priority lists,
timelines and programs that offer more diversity in structure to the
overall community of Wood County.
By
establishing a strong volunteer base, PHCA has been able to bring to
fruition many if its dreams! Take a look at what we’ve done so far:
Maintained high quality programming, raised funds to establish a park
and community center, provided after-school tutoring, drug prevention
programs, utilized county community service workers, BGSU students
earning course credit for educational support and service-learning,
Adult Education programs such as GED completion, Boys and Girl Scout
Troops, Preschool Story Hour, Arts & Craft Programs, Resume &
Cover Letter Service, Computer Classes, Sr. Citizens Group, Community
Clean-up Projects, and a Community Newsletter.
PHCA
has accomplished much of what it originally set out to do, but we are
far from finished. Future plans include these projects: support groups,
cooking clubs, spanish lessons, and on-going fund-raising efforts such
as: Annual Giving Campaign, Mexican American Festival, and much more.
