Kids get into Newport Aquarium free Jan. 8 - Feb. 28

Looking for a way to keep your little ones amused as winter’s cold bears down?

Children can get into Newport Aquarium free during the venue’s annual Winter Family Days Jan. 8-Feb. 28.

Two children will be permitted in with each full-priced adult ticket over the next month. During that time, the aquarium will open one hour early at 9 a.m. every Saturday and holiday weekend.
“Your kids will have fun inside our 74-degree climate-controlled facility, no matter the weather outside,” wrote aquarium spokesman Jeff Geiser in a prepared statement.
One new exhibit is Snowball and Snowflake, who are 2 of less than 100 white alligators in the world. The alligators will be at the aquarium through the end of February.
There’s also a 385,000-gallon tank filled with four rare and exotic shark rays – the largest collection of shark rays in the world – as well as tiger sharks, zebra sharks, stingrays, and a curious 200-pound loggerhead sea turtle named Denver.
Other exhibits include alligators, jellyfish and penguins.
Newport Aquarium, located in Newport, across the Ohio River from Downtown Cincinnati, was named a 2013 top U.S. aquarium by Travel Channel.

Starting Monday, Winter Family Days tickets will be available at the aquarium’s ticket window, through their website, www.NewportAquarium.com, or by calling 1-800-406-FISH (3474).
